Sorting with a shopkeeper attached

Market Sort dresses the sorting puzzle as a corner shop. A character asks you to fill an order, and you arrange goods onto shelves so that like sits with like — bread with bread, produce with produce.

It is the same underlying problem as tube sorting, but the board is a set of shelves rather than a row of tubes, and the pieces are shop items rather than coloured balls.

What the shelves change

• Shelves are wider than tubes, so a single shelf can hold several groups at once. That is extra freedom and extra ways to make a mess.
• Order matters less and adjacency matters more — the goal is grouping rather than stacking.
• The order request tells you what the level wants finished first. Read it before moving anything.

Playing it well

Clear one shelf completely as early as you can. An empty shelf is workspace, and the game gets much harder once every shelf holds something.

And resist tidying items that are already grouped. Every move you spend on something that was already correct is a move you do not have for the mess.
